A Pair of Arrests Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident resulted in the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals injured by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
